Perfect for standard 8ft walls, this full accent panel set offers a sleek, seamless finish with no cutting required. Made of real wood with a white oak tone and backed with black felt, these 9mm thick panels offer a clean, slat-free surface that complements our slat panel collection. Flexible and lightweight, they install easily on flat or curved walls and are ideal for mixing or matching with slatted styles for a cohesive, modern finish.
It bends, because there is nothing rigid inside it. No MDF, no hardwood backer, no core of any kind — just real wood veneer laminated straight onto 9mm felt. That is what lets a panel follow a curved wall, a column, a cove or the sweep of a stairwell as it comes, with no kerfing, no steaming and no relief cuts. Work from one end and let the panel take the shape of the wall.
Continuous wood, hairline seams. This is the quiet member of the range: one continuous plane of timber that reads as material rather than as pattern. It is the panel to reach for when a wall already has a lot going on, or when you want the wood to sit behind the furniture instead of competing with it.
The join is part of the design. Every panel edge is chamfered 1.5mm, so two panels butted together open into a 3mm shadow reveal — a fine, deliberate vertical line every 11.81″. It is the same reveal that runs between the slats on ULTRALIGHT Wide. A flat panel has to meet its neighbour somewhere; this one does it on purpose rather than hoping you will not notice.
It barely takes the room. The whole panel measures 9mm — about the thickness of a pencil lying on its side. Shallow enough for ceilings, door reveals, cabinet fronts and rooms where a deeper profile would read as bulk instead of texture.
Twenty pounds a box. Five panels at 94.49″ come to 20 lbs, 25 lbs at 106″ and 30 lbs at 118.11″ — five pounds heavier than the slat box at every height, which is exactly the weight the v-cuts take out of a slat panel. Still a one-hand carry up a flight of stairs, and still a one-person afternoon on a single wall.
Real wood veneer, not a printed film. Every panel carries the grain of the log it came from, so no two are identical and a run reads as timber rather than as a repeat. On a flat face there is nowhere for that to hide, which is the point.
It runs with the slat panels. Same veneer, same felt, same 9mm depth, the same panel heights and the same 3mm reveal as ULTRALIGHT Wide. So a wall can go flat behind the bed and slatted either side of it, and the two meet at the same plane with nothing to pack out.
59.06″ of wall in one box. Five panels, 11.81″ each — the widest coverage per box we sell. Fewer boxes on the order and fewer joins to set on the wall.
The face. Real wood veneer, laminated directly onto the felt with nothing between the two — no MDF, no plywood, no core. The veneer runs unbroken across the panel, which is the whole difference between this and a slat panel: there is nothing cut into it.
The backing. 9mm felt made from post-consumer recycled PET — bottles diverted from waste and spun into fibre. It is certified to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, Product Class I, the standard’s most stringent tier and the same one applied to textiles for babies and children under three.
The edges. Each panel is chamfered 1.5mm wide and 1.5mm deep along its left and right edge — a 45° cut. Butt two panels together and the two chamfers close into a single 3mm wide, 1.5mm deep shadow reveal at 90°, with 7.5mm of felt left intact beneath it. No lip, no overlap and nothing to align.
The measurements. A panel is exactly 300mm wide (11.81″) and 9mm deep, of which 297mm is flat veneer face and the remaining 3mm is the two chamfers. Because nothing is lost to a lap, a panel covers its full 300mm once installed and five of them come to exactly 1500mm — 59.06″.
On sound. We do not publish an absorption rating for Accent, and we would rather say so than imply one. The felt sits behind an unbroken veneer face, so sound does not reach it the way it does through the open grooves of a slat panel. If absorption is what you are after, run Accent alongside ULTRALIGHT Slat or Wide on the same wall — they share the same depth and heights, so the two sit flush.
| Panel height | Width per box | Coverage per box |
|---|---|---|
| 94.49″2400mm | 59.06″ 1500mm | 38.75 sq ft |
| 106″2693mm | 59.06″ 1500mm | 43.48 sq ft |
| 118.11″3000mm | 59.06″ 1500mm | 48.44 sq ft |
Only the height changes — every box is 59.06″ wide. To work out how many you need, divide your wall width in inches by 59.06 and round up: a 10-foot wall (120″) takes three boxes. Each panel has a 1.5mm chamfer on both edges, so panels butt together into a 3mm shadow reveal and every 300mm panel covers the full 300mm of wall — nothing is lost to an overlap.
Before you start. Work out your box count first: each box covers 59.06″ of wall width, so divide your wall width in inches by 59 and round up — a ten-foot wall takes three boxes. Order it all at once so every panel comes from the same production run; veneer varies batch to batch, and on a flat face that variation has nowhere to hide.
Plan where the reveals land. A 3mm reveal falls every 11.81″. Before you fix anything, dry-lay the run and decide where the first panel starts — centring the run on the wall, or on the bed or sofa in front of it, looks more deliberate than starting hard in a corner and leaving an offcut at the far end.
Mounting — adhesive, not screws. Accent goes up with construction adhesive, straight onto drywall, plaster or timber, with no battens or subframe to build first. Screws are not an option on this panel: the only break in the face is the 3mm shadow reveal at a join, and there is nowhere to seat a screw head without putting it through the veneer. Run vertical beads down the back of the panel, set it, and press the whole face home.
Finishing nails, if you want them. Once two panels are butted and the reveal is closed, a finishing nail can go straight down the middle of that 3mm reveal and into the wall. It is a useful way to hold a join tight while the adhesive cures, or to pull in a panel that is sitting proud of an uneven wall. The head disappears into the shadow line. Nails go in after the panels are together, never before — they are there to hold a join, not to carry the panel.
Curves. The panel follows a gentle curve as it comes. Fix one end first, then work along the curve fixing as you go and letting the panel take the shape of the wall — do not flatten it out and try to bend it afterwards.
Butting panels. Push each panel up tight against the last one. The two 1.5mm chamfers close into one even 3mm reveal, so keep the join closed rather than leaving a gap — the reveal is already built in, and any gap on top of it shows. A finishing nail in the reveal will hold a stubborn join closed while the adhesive takes.
Cutting. A fine-tooth blade through the veneer face and a sharp knife through the felt. Score the veneer first and cut on the waste side. For height, cut from the bottom so the factory edge stays at eye level. If you have to rip a panel narrower, take it off the edge that will sit in the corner so the chamfered edge stays on the visible join.
Care. Dust the veneer with a dry or barely damp cloth, following the grain, and run a soft brush along the reveals. Skip solvents, wax and steam. Indoor use only — not for bathrooms with a shower, saunas, or anywhere outdoors.

ULTRALIGHT Accent. Real wood on a felt backbone.
A Plane, Not a Pattern
The felt is not just backing — it is the structure. Here it carries an unbroken veneer face, so the panel still bends, still weighs almost nothing, and still reads as timber rather than as a repeat.

Follows the Curve
No MDF, no hardwood backer, no rigid core — so the panel bends to a curved wall, a column or a cove without kerfing, steaming or relief cuts. Work from one end and let it take the shape of the wall.

Five Panels to a Box
59.06″ of wall width in a single box — the widest coverage per box in the range. Fewer boxes on the order, fewer joins to set on the wall.

A 3mm Line, On Purpose
Every edge is chamfered 1.5mm, so two panels open into a 3mm shadow reveal where they meet. The join is drawn rather than hidden — the same reveal that runs between the slats on ULTRALIGHT Wide.

Light Enough to Install Solo
Light enough to hold flat against the wall with one arm while you fix it with the other. No helper, no trestles, no waiting for someone to be free on a Saturday.

Product specification
These are the actual milled dimensions, not nominal ones. The face is one unbroken sheet of veneer; the only line on the wall is the 3mm shadow reveal where two panels meet, and that reveal is cut rather than left to chance — a 1.5mm chamfer on each panel edge closing into a 90° V. Each box holds five panels and covers 59.06″ of wall width, so a ten-foot wall takes three boxes.

FAQ
What is an ULTRALIGHT Accent panel?
ULTRALIGHT Accent is a flexible real wood wall panel with a flat face. Real wood veneer is laminated straight onto 9mm recycled felt, and the face is left whole — one continuous plane of timber from edge to edge. There is no MDF, no hardwood backer and no rigid core of any kind, which is what keeps it light and lets it follow a curve. Each panel is 11.81″ wide. Five panels come in a box and cover 59.06″ of wall width.
How thick are ULTRALIGHT Accent panels?
ULTRALIGHT panels are 9mm thick in total — about 0.35 of an inch. That is the veneer face and the acoustic felt together, because there is no core between them.
It is the shallowest panel Slats.co sells, which makes it workable on ceilings, in door reveals and anywhere a deeper panel would read as bulk rather than texture.
Do ULTRALIGHT Accent panels have an MDF core?
No. ULTRALIGHT Accent has no MDF, no particle board, no plywood and no hardwood backer — there is no core at all. The wood veneer is laminated directly onto 9mm recycled felt. That is the reason the panel is light enough to handle alone and flexible enough to follow a curve. Slats.co panels with a hardwood core, such as TrueWood and the Solid line, are built differently and suit different jobs.
Can ULTRALIGHT Accent panels bend around a curved wall?
Yes. Because there is no rigid core, an ULTRALIGHT panel follows a gentle curve as it comes — no kerfing, no steaming and no relief cuts.
It works on curved walls, columns, coves, bulkheads and the sweep of a stairwell. Fix from one end and let the panel take the shape of the wall rather than trying to flatten it first.
How much does a box of ULTRALIGHT Accent panels weigh?
20 lbs at 94.49″, 25 lbs at 106″ and 30 lbs at 118.11″ — five panels to a box. That is 5 lbs more than the equivalent slat box at every height, because the v-cuts are what take weight out of a slat panel and Accent has none. You can still carry a box up a flight of stairs in one hand and hold a panel flat against the wall with one arm while you fix it with the other.
How many panels are in a box of ULTRALIGHT Accent?
Five panels. Each panel is 11.81″ wide, so a box covers 59.06″ of wall width — the widest coverage per box Slats.co sells. By height that works out to 38.75 sq ft at 94.49″, 43.48 sq ft at 106″ and 48.44 sq ft at 118.11″.
How wide is one ULTRALIGHT Accent panel?
Each panel is 11.81″ wide — 300mm. Of that, 11.69″ is flat veneer face; the remaining 3mm is the 1.5mm chamfer along each edge. Because the panels butt with no lip and no overlap, a panel covers the full 11.81″ once installed. There is nothing to subtract for a lap.
Does ULTRALIGHT Accent have slats?
Accent has a continuous veneer face: real wood across the full width of every panel, with a hairline 3mm shadow reveal where one panel meets the next, every 11.81″. For a slatted look, ULTRALIGHT Slat has seven slat faces per panel and ULTRALIGHT Wide has broad 4″ slats.
How do ULTRALIGHT Accent panels join together?
They butt straight into each other. Each panel edge is chamfered 1.5mm wide and 1.5mm deep, so when two panels meet the two chamfers close into a single 3mm shadow reveal, 1.5mm deep, with 7.5mm of felt left intact beneath it. There is no lip, no overlap and nothing to align — push the next panel up tight against the last and the reveal sets itself. It is the same 3mm reveal that runs between the slats on ULTRALIGHT Wide.
How many boxes of ULTRALIGHT Accent do I need?
Measure the width of your wall in inches and divide by 59 — each box covers 59.06″ of wall width, or 1500mm. Round up, because the offcut from the last panel usually finds a use elsewhere on the wall. A ten-foot wall (120″) takes three boxes. A sixteen-foot wall (192″) takes four. If you are unsure, send us your measurements and we will work it out with you.
How do you install ULTRALIGHT Accent panels?
With construction adhesive, straight onto drywall, plaster or timber — no battens, no subframe. Screws are not used on Accent: the only break in the face is the 3mm shadow reveal at a join, so there is nowhere to seat a screw head without driving it through the veneer. Run vertical beads down the back of each panel, set it, and press the whole face home. Start from one end, check the first panel is plumb, then butt each following panel up tight against the last. Once two panels are together, a finishing nail can go down the middle of the 3mm reveal to hold the join while the adhesive cures — the head disappears into the shadow line.
Do ULTRALIGHT Accent panels need a batten or frame behind them?
No. Accent fixes straight to the wall surface — drywall, plaster or timber — with construction adhesive. No battens, no furring strips and no subframe. That is part of why the panel only takes 9mm off the room. On a curved or uneven surface, fixing straight to the wall also lets the panel follow the shape rather than bridging it.
Can ULTRALIGHT Accent panels be installed on a ceiling?
Yes. At 9mm thick and 20 lbs a box at 94.49″, Accent is straightforward to take overhead. Use construction adhesive and prop or brace each panel while it cures — overhead is the one place you cannot rely on the panel to hold itself while the adhesive grabs. Finishing nails through the 3mm reveal at each join help hold the run up in the meantime. Work along one line so the reveals stay continuous and parallel across the span.
Can ULTRALIGHT Accent panels be cut to size?
Yes. Cut the veneer face with a fine-tooth blade and the felt with a sharp knife, scoring the veneer first and cutting on the waste side. For height, cut from the bottom so the factory edge stays at eye level. If you have to rip a panel narrower, take it off the edge that will sit in the corner — that keeps the factory chamfer on the visible join.
How do I cut ULTRALIGHT Accent around outlets and light switches?
Mark the opening on the face of the panel, then cut the veneer with a sharp knife or a fine-tooth blade and peel the felt back behind it.
Because the felt is only 9mm and has no rigid core, it cuts cleanly without chipping or blowing out the back. A cover plate sits over the edge and hides the cut.
Can I mount a TV or shelves on ULTRALIGHT Accent panels?
Yes, but fix into the wall behind, never into the panel. Accent is veneer on felt with no rigid core, so it carries no structural load at all. Locate your studs before you panel, mark them, then run your bracket fixings through the panel and into the stud.
Do ULTRALIGHT Accent panels absorb sound?
Not the way the slat panels do, and we would rather say so. On a slat panel the grooves open the felt to the room; on Accent the felt sits behind an unbroken veneer face, so sound does not reach it in the same way. Slats.co does not publish an NRC rating for any ULTRALIGHT panel and will not quote one here. If absorption is what you need, run Accent alongside ULTRALIGHT Slat or Wide — same depth, same heights, so the two sit flush on one wall.
Are ULTRALIGHT Accent panels fire-rated?
Our panels are not fire rated. If a fire rating is required for your project, check with your contractor or your local building code before ordering.
What sizes do ULTRALIGHT Accent panels come in?
Three heights: 94.49″ for eight-foot walls, 106″ for nine-foot walls and 118.11″ for ten-foot walls. All three are 11.81″ wide per panel, five panels to a box, covering 59.06″ of wall width.
What finishes do ULTRALIGHT Accent panels come in?
White Oak, Walnut and Grey Oak, each over black felt. Availability varies by height — Grey Oak is currently 94.49″ only. Because the face is unbroken, the veneer is doing all of the work on an Accent wall: it is worth ordering a sample and seeing the grain in your own light before you commit a whole wall to it.
Is ULTRALIGHT Accent real wood?
Yes. The face is real wood veneer, not a printed film or a photographic laminate.
Because it is real wood, the grain varies from panel to panel and from batch to batch. That is worth knowing if you are matching an order placed months apart — order the whole wall together where you can.
How much does shipping cost on ULTRALIGHT Accent panels?
Shipping is free to the contiguous U.S. on most ULTRALIGHT orders. The exceptions are samples, and 118.11″ panels ordered in quantities of 1 to 3 boxes, where shipping is calculated at checkout.
Order 4 or more boxes of 118.11″ panels and shipping is free. The 118.11″ boxes are long enough to move by freight rather than parcel, which is why the carrier rate shows up on smaller orders.
How long do ULTRALIGHT Accent panels take to arrive?
Most ULTRALIGHT orders leave the warehouse within one to two business days, with delivery to the contiguous U.S. typically inside a week.
Freight shipments of 118.11″ panels take longer and are booked with a delivery appointment. The delivery estimate on the product page reflects the current lead time for the size and finish you are looking at.
Can ULTRALIGHT Accent panels be used in a bathroom or outdoors?
ULTRALIGHT is for indoor use only. It is not suitable for outdoors, saunas, or bathrooms with a shower or bath in the same room.
A powder room with good ventilation and no shower is usually fine. Wood veneer and felt both take on moisture, and neither recovers well once they have.
How do I clean ULTRALIGHT Accent panels?
Dust the veneer with a dry or barely damp cloth, following the grain, and run a soft brush along the reveals between panels. No solvents, no wax, no polish and no steam. If something is spilled, blot it up rather than wiping across.
Can ULTRALIGHT Accent panels be painted or stained?
We do not recommend it. The face is a thin real wood veneer, and stain lifts unevenly while paint fills the reveals and flattens the crisp line between panels. If you want a painted finish, the Paint-Ready line is made for exactly that — it ships pre-primed white and is designed to be painted in your own colour.
Will ULTRALIGHT Accent panels expand or contract?
No meaningful movement. There is no solid timber and no MDF in the panel, so there is nothing to swell or shrink with humidity the way a cored panel can.
You do not need expansion gaps at the seams. Butt the panels tight and they stay tight.
Can I take ULTRALIGHT Accent panels with me if I move?
No — plan on Accent staying put. It is fixed with construction adhesive, which is not intended to come off cleanly, and there is no screw option on this panel because a flat face has nowhere to seat a screw head. If you want panels that come down again, ULTRALIGHT Slat fixes with screws that sit inside the grooves: back them out, lift the panels down and fill the holes.
Are ULTRALIGHT Accent panels renter-friendly?
Not especially, and we would rather be straight about it. Accent goes up with construction adhesive, so taking it down again means damage to the wall behind. If you are renting, ULTRALIGHT Slat is the panel to look at — it fixes with screws that seat down inside the grooves, so it comes off again and the patches are small. Check your tenancy agreement on wall fixings either way.
Are ULTRALIGHT Accent panels eco-friendly?
The 9mm felt backing is made from post-consumer recycled PET — plastic bottles diverted from waste and spun into felt. The panels are independently tested to meet low-VOC standards. Slats.co also plants a tree for every panel sold. And because Accent uses veneer rather than solid timber, a given log covers far more wall.
Does Slats.co offer ULTRALIGHT Accent samples?
Yes. Individual ULTRALIGHT Accent samples are $3.99 each, and the full sample kit is $30. Worth doing on a flat panel especially — veneer colour shifts under different light, and on a continuous face the grain is the entire surface.
Where is Slats.co based?
Slats.co is a Southern California company, shipping across the contiguous United States.
